The Breakfast Debate:
Hot vs. Cold
Throughout 1997 we asked our guests if they would prefer a full
breakfast of eggs, pancakes, etc. for an extra charge of $5-10. We were
surprised to find that 78% of our guests were not interested in a hot
breakfast.
As a city B&B; we found that most people wanted a simple breakfast so
they could get started with their day.
So for now� we are sticking with our continental breakfast. However, we
have made it more substantial by adding cereals, yogurt, and hard-
boiled eggs.

New Bathrobes
We�ve hunted high and low to find our guests the best bathrobes and we
finally found them in Los Angeles, California. Made by Turtle Wear, our
new robes will be emerald-green microfiber with terry lining. One travel
writer for the L.A. Times said that Turtle Wear robes were the �thickest,
fluffiest bathrobes� she had ever encountered. Also our robes will have
our logo embroidered on the front pocket. Our new bathrobes are so
luxurious that some of our staff have ordered them for themselves!
VCR�s & Private Movie Library
After a long day, in Boston our guest often decide to stay in and relax.
So, over the next few months we will be installing VCR�s in all of our 14
rooms. Additionally, over the last few months we have been putting
together a collection of videos to keep in our own Bertram Inn movie
library. There�s no extra cost, just drop into the office to pick your
movie. And if you don�t see a movie that interests you, we�ve opened an
account at the local video store for our guests to use.

Gift Shop
Forget that last minute present for
your significant other or your kids? Not to worry � The Bertram Inn will
soon have its own gift shop .
We�ll stock one of our beautiful armoires
with something for everyone from books on Boston to teapots or our
robes. And for those of you who have been asking about our mattresses
and sheets, you�ll now be able to order them through us!

The Bertram Inn is moving into 1998 at top speed! In 1997 22 % of our
business came from the Internet, so we�ve been working on the
development of our own web site.
In March, surfers can jump on the Internet and check out The Bertram Inn.
In addition to being connected to the hottest Boston sites, people will be
able to see pictures of our rooms, download maps, e-mail room requests,
and get the most up-to-date information on what's happening in Boston.
